(r)evolution is out!
(r)evolution is out!
(r)evolution is about my evolution and growth throughout my past few years as an organizer in this revolution. My good friend asked me what story I wanted to tell with this album. And I wanted to tell the story of learning to love myself.
This is a live album recorded in Kingston as part of Vibin’ Live with Hudsy. Recorded using my Boss RC300 looper, many songs are built line by line to develop a fuller sound. In a world where music is autotuned, and over edited, and dubbed, I chose to put forth this live record because part of learning to love myself is loving myself how I am in all my imperfection (with no negative preamble).
I chose Juneteenth as the release date because it represents my emancipation from the shackles of self-hate, addiction, and codependency. There’s more coming with the album release - a film, some really dope art & merch, and more.
(r)evolution is dedicated to the Black women & femmes that are carrying the world on their shoulders on this path for liberation and to bell hooks for helping me see & be seen.
My role in the revolution has changed over the years. Please support my ability to keep doing this work by ordering the album if you haven't already, and sharing with friends!
upcoming shows
Colton Thorn / Low Tide / callie mackenzie @ Tubby’s
callie mackenzie returns to Tubby’s with a full band. Singer-Songwriter Colton Thorn and Brooklyn based folk duo Low Tide fill out the evening.
callie mackenzie is a Kingston based musician, multidisciplinary artist, and organizer. She brings the audience on a smooth, soulful and sometimes funky journey of deep feelings about oppression, freedom, love, heartbreak, and mental health.
Colton Thorn is a board certified music therapist, local quirky singer-songwriter, and a multi-instrumentalist and voice teacher. They have original tender songs around transitions, love, and even Oreos
Low Tide is a folk duo from Brooklyn, NY with soaring violins and harmonies. They released their debut album “The Alchemist” in 2019, which centered on themes of gender and nature, and was described as ‘lilting and earthy… the trauma folk of Big Thief and the haunting warmth of Antony and the Johnsons and PJ Harvey’. They are working on their second album, a collection of anti-capitalist love songs.
Vosburgh Orchards Sunday Sessions

Attica Remembrance Day
Summer is here, and it is time to prepare for our 5th annual Attica Community Remembrance Day in Poughkeepsie, NY, on Saturday, September 14th! This year’s theme is The Global Plague of the Power of the Naked Fist!
This theme is carefully chosen to echo the enduring struggle against systemic oppression. As we assemble, we will pay homage to the indomitable spirit of the Attica uprising, a watershed moment in the fight for justice, while simultaneously confronting the enduring injustices that afflict communities worldwide. Our gathering is not merely an act of passive remembrance but a defiant stance against the relentless grip of oppressive forces that continue to asphyxiate the marginalized and disenfranchised. The Attica uprising serves as a poignant reminder of the power of collective resistance—a resolute rejection of dehumanization and state-sanctioned violence.
Join us in community as we celebrate and remember the prisoners of the Attica Uprising!
The event will consist of:
Free Food (Vegan and Gluten-Free options are available and limited)
Free Performances presented by Lady Mae Entertainment and Callie Mackenzie
Ways to get involved with local organizations across the Hudson Valley
Speeches from Movement leaders
Free Healing Clinic
Free educational resources inspired and created by currently incarcerated community members

THE STORY OF RED FOX RAVINE
This land, centered around a historic limestone quarry, experienced a second period of intense disturbance five years ago. The KLT protected the first parcel of the preserve just after this, in early 2020, and we have since been working hard, inspired by the resilience of the land itself and with the support of the community, to protect additional land to expand the preserve (in collaboration with the Northeastern Cave Conservancy), and to clean up, revegetate, and make public access improvements at what has already become a treasured local park. [Performances will be taking place on a stage built by our land stewardship team in 2023, the quarry is being stewarded by us and the community, new art, revegetaing etc.etc]

Deidre McCalla
FIRST ACOUSTICS PRESENTS DEIDRE McCALLA with special guest callie mackenzie
Deidre McCalla (she/her) - a Black woman, mother, lesbian, feminist - has long been in the forefront of Black musicians expanding the understanding of how Black folk can do folk. Deidre is riding high on her current release ENDLESS GRACE which dominated the June 2022 Folk Radio Charts as the #1 Album with the #1 Song - Shoulder To The Wheel and the #3 Song - I Do Not Walk This Path Alone, and finished for the year as the #13 Top Album on FAI Folk Radio. PopMatters, Rhythms Magazine, and the Folk Alley Listener Favorite’s Poll ranked ENDLESS GRACE among the 10 Best Folk Albums for 2022. In 2023 Deidre’s song Shoulder To The Wheel won the 19th Annual International Acoustic Music Award for Best Folk/Americana/Roots song.
Deidre learned at an early age that life begins with an acoustic guitar and her songwriting reveals an unyieldingly honest perspective expressed with a lyric touch that relentlessly celebrates the power and diversity of the human spirit.
callie mackenzie (she/they), a Hudson based musician, artist, and organizer, is passionate about poetry and music. Armed with a guitar, callie writes music with an acoustic soul feel that reflects their lived experiences as a Queer Black woman experiencing the quest for liberation and the every day feels of love, hope, joy, and loss.

Rosendale Street Festival Fundraiser
An amazing evening of music and film will be taking place to help support the 2024 Rosendale Street Festival.
The lineup includes:
Callie Mackenzie
Callie Mackenzie is a Hudson Valley-based musician, artist, and organizer who is passionate about poetry and music. Armed with a guitar, Callie writes music with an acoustic soul feel that reflects their lived experiences as a Queer Black woman experiencing the quest for liberation and the everyday feels of love, hope, joy, and loss.
The Gold Hope Duo
When Ameripolitan award-winning artist Lara Hope teams up with internationally touring, upright bass-slapping pro, Matt “The Knife” Goldpaugh, they become…LARA HOPE’S GOLD HOPE DUO! This husband and wife team is hitting it hard, spreading “Merry-Cana”, a term they coined to describe their genre. They will be bringing their unique brand of stripped-down, upbeat Americana, Rhythm & Blues, Country, Folk, Rockabilly, and a pinch of humor to a town near you! Living by the motto “If you can’t do it, kazoo it!”, this pair is sure to make you laugh, drink, dance, and grab your partners behind!
Joey Eppard
Joey Eppard is a true musical triple threat: an accomplished vocalist, a brilliant songwriter, and an innovative master of his own finger-style approach to guitar playing. He is the driving force behind the Hudson Valley-based rock band “3,” as well as a renowned solo performer, often leaving his audiences shocked that so much sound can emanate from a single human being. During his career, he has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan, garnering a reputation for intense and passionate live performances that often leave his guitar with nary a string.
Circus of Wolves
Circus Of Wolves pitches a big open tent: inclusive enough to allow a group of distinct and diverse players to each express their own unique voice. The music brings together elements of folk, jazz, funk, Latin, soul, and a tinge of rock. The wolves are the players and the influences they bring to the circus. From the very beginning, the concept was to celebrate diverse musical influences. To borrow from the rock band format but not religiously follow its template. To mix styles together. To find a unique voice that people will recognize while incorporating different stylings, phrasings, and tones. To be electric and acoustic, natural and authentic.
The evening will also feature a short film about the 2023 Rosendale Street Festival created by HUDSY.
The weather at last year’s festival was a big challenge. There was a tornado warning and lots of showers on Sunday morning which deterred people from coming out. Unfortunately, the funds raised were lower than usual. To make the 2024 festival a reality some money needs to be raised to help cover expenses.
Uncle Tony’s Tavern will feature great wine and local craft beer. There will also be a raffle featuring a membership to the Rosendale Theatre, gift certificates to Guts n Glory Tattoos, Victoria Gardens, and Ollie’s Pizza, tickets to the Woodstock Film Festival, and stays at Hasbrouck House and Mohonk Mountain House.
The 2024 festival will be taking place on July 20 and 21.
Checks and cash will be accepted as well at the event. Checks should be made out to Music Festival of Rosendale, Inc..
If you cannot attend, donations can also be sent to: Music Festival of Rosendale, Inc., P.O. Box 457, Rosendale, NY 12472.
